Purpose of the Program
Advantage Support Services’ On-line Program will educate and train entire departments, as well as new hires and existing Central Sterile Processing staff.
The Program will provide technicians with the initial base knowledge of “the how” and “the why” for processing instruments.
The On-line Program presents detailed training demonstrations for the following:
- Decontamination: The point of receiving items into a decontamination area
- Assembly: The inspection and assembly of instruments
- Sterilization: The sterilization methods including , EtO, Gas Plasma and Steam
- Documentation: The monitoring of all sterilization methods stated
- QA Measures: Quality assurance measures at each critical stage of process for sterilization
These training modules will establish a uniformed standard of care for all technicians for each specific part of the sterilization process. All training modules, recommendations and instructions were created according to industry-standard regulations from the following organizations; AAMI, AORN, CDC, OSHA, and Joint Commission
