How This Program Works
This program was created in response to the lack of time the OR management have to train and lack of time to schedule in-service training for OR staff. Participants will spend 90 minutes on the Flash Program which will include the following components:
- Video demonstrations (45 minutes)
- Workbook lecture material issued in 2 separate modules
- On-line testing issued to each staff member
- A passing grade of 70 is set and results given at the end of the exam.
- A Certification of completion
- A Competency training report issued to management with a participating grade.
Class participants will receive their own username and password
Registered participants will have access to all video demonstrations and video classroom lectures, workbook lectures, testing modules and certificates of completion.
The On-line Program will take each participant step by step through the sterilization processes: from the point of use to when the instrument is delivered back to the OR suite.
Participants will:
- Watch the training video demonstrations – (THE HOW TO)
- Perform a post – demonstration to the facilitator
- View, read and study the workbook lecture segment
- Test ( passing grade set at 70 or higher)
Evaluation of Training Outcomes:
- Management will be able to review participants’ progress and grade using a password with a Competency Tracking Report. Documentation is critical for the tracking of training accomplishments.
- Site facilitators and the Advantage educator will receive emailed results of each participant’s progress and score. The results will then be entered into the participants’ competency tracking document or education file.
- Facilitators can sign – off on modules that have been completed to insure the professional has acquired the appropriate mastery level. This will also note re-training needs for staff and process evaluations.
- Your managers will have documented participant competencies, and annual review competencies in place.
