Instrument sterilization practices beginning at the point of use:

· Point of Use Decontamination

· Transporting dirty instruments to decontamination area

· Decontamination process in manual wash sink and in mechanical washer

· Inspection of instruments

· Correct placement in mesh tray for single wrapped tray, closed metal container and FlashPak

· Operating sterilizer for gravity and prevac cycles

· Testing sterilizer for operation testing of each sterilization cycle

· Transportation and delivery of sterile instruments to sterile field

· Documentation of each sterilization cycle and load to include patient tracking
